Jan. 16th, 2024: Pump

Prohibition commenced in the United States on January 17, 1920, and endured for 13 years. As we approach the eve of Prohibition, a significant and dark chapter in our nation’s history, I recall stumbling upon a documentary some years ago called “Pump”. This documentary about our choices at the fuel pump very very briefly touched upon the reasons for its extended duration, reasons that even Ken Burns missed in his documentary on PROHIBITION. Upon revisiting the trailer, it becomes evident that this documentary remains as relevant today as it was a decade ago regarding our choices to fuel our vehicles but I always want folks to watch it for the Prohibition factoid – it is the one thing that makes sense.
