Having a loved one with dimentia is hard enough. The opening of this trailer is too painfully recognizable for too many families. As if caring for a loved one with memory problems is not bad enough, when they wander off, it compounds problems. The Solid State opens this trailer with a search party. The Emily Mortimer character is looking for her mother setting the tone of ‘foreboding’ … this isn’t going to go well for them.
Then the trailer takes a diabolical turn. We see a story of three generations of women here … with relationship troubles way before the search party scene. Looks like there are a few more ‘scares’ in the future. My heart just goes out to people going through caring for elderly loved ones. I don’t know if I can watch this for a few years til it is not so fresh. It is like I want to join in the search. Way to hook me in … Good luck!
