Very confusing is the Movie Beats by Steven Soderbergh and the TV series Beat S1 … and a third entry from Netflix also named Beats … watch below so you know which is which. They were released at relatively the same time 2018 and I realized this when I was in a water cooler discussion with a friend and I thought we were talking about the Series on Amazon from Germany but clearly, she was talking about a movie about making techno music illegal. Both fun trailers but very different types of story 🙂 see below:

The dark murder mystery series is quite a different tone than the upBeat English Footloose-esqu movie. Huh. I’m amazed that Hollywood hasn’t decided to remake Footloo yet… yes the powers that be did a Broadway play but no film remake – BEATS (with an S) could be the British answer to that. But hold up, Netflix has also thrown it’s hat into the ring with Beats a Netflix Original Movie (2019). This Anthony Anderson starer looks to be an urban coming of age story set in modern day Chicago. The trailer got me – great use of music and graphics there at the end .. check out the trailer here:
